Altered at the Altar

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Faith United brings in the new year with worship.

Sunday school begins at 9 a.m. for kids and adults. Worship is at 10:30 a.m. Pastor Jack will give the message Altered at the Altar during the morning worship service, and he'll be reading from I John 4.

Though the Harvest Festival has ended, receipts from Kens and Kesslers are still being collected in the box near the coffee service in the lower narthex.

God Rest You Merry

 It's Christmas! and Faith Church rejoices

Tomorrow (Sunday, Dec. 26) we'll celebrate the Savior's birth in worship at 10:30 a.m. Pastor Jack will give the message, God Rest You Merry during the worship service. Kids will join adults for Sunday school at 9 a.m.

We'll be singing traditional carols during the service.

Harvest Festival continues this week with Harvest offerings going to Safe Harbor and the Salvation Army.

 The Christmas Eve Vespers service will be at 5 p.m. Friday. The service is a reflective one with scripture and carols, concluding with the congregation spreading the light with candles to Silent Night.

Gold, Circumstances and Mud

 Faith Church celebrates the second Sunday of the Advent season. 



During morning worship (10:30 a.m.), Pastor Jack will deliver the message Gold, Circumstance and Mud and read from Isaiah and Philippians 4.

 Sunday school starts with a jam session at 9 a.m., and Bible time at 9:35 a.m.

The Harvest Festival is ongoing through the first of the year. At this time, members can contribute and all Harvest-designated offerings go to either the Salvation Army or Safe Harbor. The church will match Harvest offerings.

Ken's and Kessler's receipts can go in the box on the table near the coffee in the foyer, and this helps the Prairie Schole group that meets in the church.

A Time to Wait

 It's Advent season, and Faith Church celebrates the coming of Christ! This week we light the candle of light. 

 Pastor Jack gives the message A Time to Wait during the morning worship service, and he'll be reading from Isaiah 9.

 Faith is still collecting for the Harvest Festival. Funds will go to Safe Harbor and the Salvation Army.

 On Dec. 12, after the worship service, Faith will share a pizza dinner in the fellowship hall.


Moving on up

 Members of Faith Church gathered over Thanksgiving weekend to help a 100-year-old move to a new place. Even Sebby was able to help. Because so many were able to pitch in, the job was done in just a few short hours. Thanks to all the happy help
ers!

Five Small Ships

 Faith Church met this morning for the last service of the Pentecost season. Pastor Jack spoke on Ephesians 5 and Psalm 126 with a message: Five Small Ships. He spoke of the disciples' boat on Galilee, Paul's boat in the Mediterranean, a certain Viking Ship, Columbus' ships and the Mayflower, all of which made the way for the gospel to travel across the globe.

The church is thankful for many things, but it was particularly thankful today for Aberdeen Community Theater and Scott Yuille for donating a wonderful meal. Members and visitors were fed to the full.

Why Put it Off?

 Faith Church meets tomorrow with a 10:30 a.m. worship service at which Pastor Jack will give the message, Why Put it Off? Mark 1 will be the text. Suncay school starts with music at 9 a.m. and


Bible study for kids and adults at 9:35.

The church will receive Harvest Festival donations through Dec. 31. Harvest gifts will go to the Salvation Army and Safe Harbor, and the church will match whatever offerings come in for this.

Dec. 12, the church will hold its first potluck since Covid pandemic measures shut things down. This will be held after the morning worship service.

 The message tomorrow is called No Pockets, and Pastor Jack will be in Mark 12 during the worship service.

 Sunday school begins at 9 a.m. with music, followed by Bible study at 9:35 a.m. A time of fellowship and coffee follows Sunday school, with worship beginning at 10:30 a.m. in the sanctuary.

 Harvest Festival is ongoing, with donations matched by the church for the Salvation Army and Safe Harbor.

 Receipts from Ken's and Kessler's are still being accepted for the Dollars for Scholars program, benefitting the Prairie Schole group.

Remembering...Reforming

 On the 23rd week of Pentecost, Faith Church meets and looks at passages in Mark and Hebrews. It's Reformation Sunday. Pastor Jack will give the message Remembering...Reforming in the morning worship service starting at 10:30 a.m. 

Special music will include 55 strings: Naomi Seaton on harp and Bob Seaton on mandolin. 

Sunday school starts at 9 a.m. with music, and Bible study begins at 9:35 a.m.

 

Also, the Harvest Festival begins this week, and that means members  can give special offerings from now until the new year, offerings that will be divided between the Salvation Army and Safe Harbor. The church will match whatever comes in.

 Faith Church will welcome District Superintendent Kris Mutzenberger during the morning worship service tomorrow. The message is called Sent Two...To...Too, and the scripture will be passages from Luke 9.

Following the service, Faith will hold its annual Charge Conference, so be prepared to stay a little longer and enjoy some fellowship.

Wandering in the Wilderness

 Pastor Jack was unable to lead the service Sunday due to health issues, and Isaac, our organist was gone. Bob Seaton managed to hold things together as we wandered in the wilderness. The communion service was postponed, and we hope Jack is better and will be with us again this Sunday.
