Palm Sunday at Faith

 Hosanna to the King of Kings!

Faith Church celebrates Palm Sunday this week, and we hope to see you there to rejoice with us.

Pastor Jack will give a message called The Wonder and Mystery of Spring as he opens Mark 11 in the worship service.

Sunday school for kids and adults will start with a music fellowship time in the foyer, followed by Bible time. (Art will be gone, so adults are on their own.)

Never Too Busy

Faith Church meets tomorrow at 10:30 a.m. Sunday school is at 9 a.m. in the dining room where we can easily spread out safely.

Pastor Jack gives the message Never Too Busy and will be in Matthew 14.

Everyone is welcome. We encourage the use of masks, especially while singing.

Church is open for worship

This morning will be the third week Faith UMC has been meeting since the pandemic began. We wear masks, but we now sing. The building is large, so social distancing is not a problem.

We are catching up on lost special days. Last week, we celebrated Mother's and Father's Day together, and next week is Easter!

He is risen!

Church starts again Sunday!

Faith will meet at the church again this Sunday, June 7.
There will be no Sunday school. Worship begins at 10:30 a.m.

We are asking people to please wear a mask when they come, and keep social distancing.
Please space yourselves in the pews. 
Though there will be coffee available, we ask that people not congregate in the foyer while drinking it.
We are thankful to be able to meet once more and pray that everyone will be safe and careful.

Can Christmas Happen Today?

Advent continues with the candle of righteousness this week. Pastor Jack will read from Luke 2 and give a message called Can Christmas Happen Today? A coffee and fellowship time starts around 9 a.m., with Sunday school at 9:30. Worship begins at 10:30 a.m. in the sanctuary.

We'll be singing traditional Christmas carols: Angels from the Realms of Glory, Once in Royal David's City, Angels We Have Heard on High.

The Christmas Eve service on Tuesday begins at 5 p.m.

Same Call but Different Now

Rain or shine, Faith Church will be open for worship this Sunday.
Sunday school starts with music for all at 9 a.m. Kids lessons and adult Bible study begin at 9:30.
Worship is at 10:30 a.m. This week, Pastor Jack will be in John 21 with a message called Same Call but Different Now.

Easter Sunday at Faith

Maundy Thursday service is at 7 p.m. Thursday. See below for details.

Faith Church celebrates Easter joyously at 10:30 a.m. Sunday in its worship service. We'll sing traditional, classic Easter hymns and hear a message from the Gospel of Mark called No Neat Little Package.

Sunday school starts at 9 a.m. with music, and
Bible study starts around 9:30 a.m. 
Adults will be digging into Philippians 3 this week.
Between Sunday school and the worship service is a coffee and fellowship time. 
All are welcome!

Maundy Thursday Service

 Faith Church holds a Maundy Thursday service this week at 7 p.m. It will be a time of hymns, scripture, solemn reflection, prayer and communion. The service will be in the sanctuary. All are welcome to partake.

 Narcotics Anonymous meeting takes place in the basement fellowship hall.

It's as Simple as That

Sunday is the fifth week of Lent. Faith Church holds its worship service, with Holy Communion, at 10:30 a.m., and Pastor Jack will give a message called It's as Simple as That. He'll be in the book of II Corinthians.
Sunday school starts at 9 a.m. with music (singing and  strings). At 9:30 a.m. Bible study begins. Hymns during the worship service include O for a Thousand Tongues; Come, Sinners, to the Gospel Feast; and I'll Praise While I've Breath.

Running Toward the Goal

Faith Church observes the fourth week of the Lenten season Sunday.
Pastor Jack Erickson speaks on Philippians 3 at the 10:30 worship service, with a message called Running Toward the Goal.
At 9 a.m., music begins for Sunday school, and at 9:30 a.m. Bible study begins. Adults will be in the book of James.
  Hymns include these: The Voice of God is Calling; Give to the Winds thy Fears; and Open My Eyes that I May See.

Warming Up

Faith Church will be warm and cozy this week. After weeks of difficult weather, some are still digging out, but the doors will be open and church will be ready.
Sunday school starts at 9 a.m. with music. Bible study follows around 9:30 a.m.
Coffee and fellowship time begins at 9 and traipses all through Sunday school and up to 10:30 a.m. when we expect another great message from Pastor Jack and warm fellowship. Join us!

I get it, really! (This time for real)

  Don't forget to turn your clocks ahead this week!
Aberdeen Faith celebrates the season of Lent, and we look forward to gathering together this Sunday. 
  Pastor Jack will speak for real on the message I Get It, Really! on Luke 6 in the worship service at 10:30 a.m. (provided the weather holds).
  Sunday school for kids and adults starts with music around 9 a.m. with lessons beginning at 9:30 a.m.
  Adults will be doing a whirlwind survey of the book of Romans.
  A coffee and fellowship time bridges Sunday school time and worship.

I Get It! Really!

Last week, weather kept Pastor Jack and Kathy in Britton, and Bob Seaton -- our go-to guy -- at home south of town. Cindy Schick stepped in and delivered a message on Psalm 23 and kept the service going. We had a time of hymns and prayer. THANK YOU, CINDY!

This week, Pastor Jack will speak on Luke 6 in a message called I Get It! Really!
Hymns this week include All Praise to Thee, Thou King Divine; Jesus Calls Us O'er the Tumult; and Now Thank We all Our God.

Faith Church meets Sunday for worship at 10:30 a.m., with Sunday school lessons at 9:30  a.m. and music at 9 a.m. Adult Sunday school will take a whirlwind trip through the book of John this week. In the worship service, the scripture is Luke 6, and Pastor Jack gives a message called Wait a Minute!

Go Get 'Em!

  Sunday, the congregation will defy the latest snow accumulations to warm up in the sanctuary and hear Pastor Jack speak on Luke 5. 
  The message? Go Get 'Em!
  Sunday school starts with music at 9 a.m. and lessons at 9:30 for kids and adults. Adults are zipping through the New Testament at warp speed.

Christmas Eve candlelight service 5 p.m.

Faith church holds its candlelight service tonight at 5 p.m. with carols, harp music and scripture. It's a time of joyful song and sacred reflection. All are welcome.

Home for Christmas

Faith Church celebrates the fourth Sunday in Advent with a lighting of the Advent wreath and a children's program. The children's program is a short, musical presentation about the numbers in the Christmas story, called The Friendly Numbers.

Pastor Jack Erickson will give the message: Home for Christmas.
We'll be singing traditional carols during the service, including Joy to the World and Go Tell it on the Mountain
Carols will continue Sundays into January.

The Christmas Eve candlelight service will be 5 p.m. Monday. It is a beautiful time of reflection and sacred music. Guests are always welcome.

God Rest Ye Merry

The candle of joy will be lit this week during Faith Church's advent service Sunday morning.
Pastor Jack will give a message called "God Rest Ye Merry," from Colossians 3.

Faith Church sings traditional carols every week into January

The Harvest Festival is still going, with donations given to the Salvation Army and Safe Harbor. The church will match any gift.
We continue singing traditional Advent and Christmas carols in the services.
Worship begins at 10:30 a.m. and Sunday school at 9, with a coffee/fellowship time between services in the foyer.
