Faith Church celebrates Epiphany on Sunday, starting with Sunday school at 9 a.m. 

A coffee and fellowship time starts around 10 and worship begins at 10:30. Since it is the first Sunday of the month, Holy Communion will be taken during the worship service, and it is open to all.

The sermon will be "He is Here."

Why Did God Let That Happen?

Faith Church marks the first week of Christmas this week.

Candle of Righteousness

For the fourth week of Advent, Faith Church will light the candle of righteousness. Sunday school starts at 9 a.m. and worship at 10:30 a.m. The sermon will be
Can Christmas Happen Today?
Pastor Jack will be in Luke 2, and the congregation will sing carols of the season.

Third week of Advent

Sunday marks the third week of Advent in which we'll light the Candle of Joy.
Sunday school starts at 9 a.m. Worship is at 10:30 a.m. and the message is, "With Fresh Eyes."


Faith Church will hold its children's Christmas program during the morning service. The program, Branches of Hope and Christmas, includes a treatment of O. Henry's The Last Leaf and features Isaac Seaton, Tiffany Schilling and Laurie Marmorstein. It is narrated by Ted Kneebone.

What's in a Name?

On the second week of advent, we light the candle of prophecy. Sunday school starts at 9 a.m. The kids will be rehearsing for the Christmas program. Adults will continue in their classes.

Worship begins at 10:30 a.m. and the message will be "What's in a Name," with Pastor Jack reading from Isaiah 9.
Next week is the Christmas program, "Branches of Hope and Christmas," during the service.

For Times Such as These

Sunday marks the first Sunday in Advent. Services begin with Sunday school at 9 a.m. and worship starts at 10:30 a.m.  The message will be: For Times Such as These.

UMW will meet in the church fellowship hall after the service.

Joint Thanksgiving Service

Tuesday, Nov. 26, at 7 p.m. there will be a joint Thanksgiving service at Faith Church. Representatives from all three Methodist churches in Aberdeen will be taking part in the service. Tom Haggar from First United Methodist Church will give the message: A Thankful Heart.

The Lord is Good

Sunday marks the 27th week of Pentecost, and Faith Church holds its harvest festival.

Sunday school starts at 9 a.m. with worship at 10:30. Food items will be collected at the altar to be given to local hunger ministries and Harvest offerings collected this month will be split between Kids Against Hunger and the Salvation Army.

After the service, the church will meet in the fellowship hall for a potluck Thanksgiving dinner.

Encourage One Another

Faith Church begins Sunday at 9 a.m. with Sunday school. At 10:30 a.m. worship begins. A coffee and fellowship time is in between.

The sermon this week is from I Thessalonians: "Encourage One Another."

Eternal goodness

Sunday marks the 25th week of Pentecost, and Faith Church also observes Armistice and Veterans' weekend.

Sunday school begins at 9 a.m. and worship at 10:30 a.m., with a time for fellowship between 10 and 10:30 a.m.

This week's message is "Eternal Goodness."

The church will be collecting food items at the altar for the Harvest Festival through November 24, and  Harvest offerings will be accepted through year's end (and will be matched by the church). These offerings will go to the Salvation Army and Kids Against Hunger.

Moved by Love

Fall Back: Don't forget to set clocks back Saturday night!

Sunday is Communion Sunday, and the 24th week of Pentecost. Sunday school starts at 9 a.m. The youth will be looking at confirmation materials starting this week.

Worship begins at 10:30 a.m. with a fellowship time between Sunday school and church. The sermon is "Moved by Love."

UMW meets downstairs at 11:30. Members should remember their thank offerings this meeting.

At 3 p.m. the annual Charge Conference will be held at the church.

There is still opportunity to donate coats for the Coats for Kids project. The box for this is in the narthex.

On November 24, food items will be collected at the altar.

Harvest offerings are being accepted through year's end and will be matched (doubled) by the church.

Sunday is Reformation Sunday and United Nations Sunday. Sunday school starts at 9 a.m. while morning worship is at 10:30 a.m. Pastor Jack Erickson's sermon will be speaking on the topic, "What prompts us to reform?"

The congregation of Faith will meet together in the parking lot between 9 and 9:30 Sunday to arrange car pools for a whole-church trip to Britton, where we will be meeting at the home of Pastor Jack and Kathy.

Church will meet back at the church building in Aberdeen the following week.

Please bring chairs and a dish to share Sunday in Britton.

Faith meets at the normal times this week -- 9 a.m. for Sunday school and 10:30 for the worship service. Next week, however, the congregation will caravan to Britton for a service at the home of Kathy and Pastor Jack Erickson. There will be no service at the church next week, Sept. 22.
