Christmas Eve candlelight service 5 p.m.

Faith church holds its candlelight service tonight at 5 p.m. with carols, harp music and scripture. It's a time of joyful song and sacred reflection. All are welcome.

Home for Christmas

Faith Church celebrates the fourth Sunday in Advent with a lighting of the Advent wreath and a children's program. The children's program is a short, musical presentation about the numbers in the Christmas story, called The Friendly Numbers.

Pastor Jack Erickson will give the message: Home for Christmas.
We'll be singing traditional carols during the service, including Joy to the World and Go Tell it on the Mountain
Carols will continue Sundays into January.

The Christmas Eve candlelight service will be 5 p.m. Monday. It is a beautiful time of reflection and sacred music. Guests are always welcome.

God Rest Ye Merry

The candle of joy will be lit this week during Faith Church's advent service Sunday morning.
Pastor Jack will give a message called "God Rest Ye Merry," from Colossians 3.

Faith Church sings traditional carols every week into January

The Harvest Festival is still going, with donations given to the Salvation Army and Safe Harbor. The church will match any gift.
We continue singing traditional Advent and Christmas carols in the services.
Worship begins at 10:30 a.m. and Sunday school at 9, with a coffee/fellowship time between services in the foyer.

Thanksgiving Week

Ron Parker will be giving the message again this Sunday at Faith Church. Worship starts at 10:30 a.m., with Sunday school at 9 and a coffee and fellowship time in between.

HARVEST FESTIVAL UNDERWAY
Faith's Harvest Festival begins now, and donations will be going to the Salvation Army and Safe Harbor. The church will match any donations coming in for the Harvest Festival.

POTLUCK NEXT SUNDAY
   On Sunday, Nov. 25, the church will enjoy a potluck after the service. Pastor Jack and Kathy should be back, too, and it's Jack's birthday that Sunday.

Squarely on their Head

Faith Church held its monthly communion service today. Isaac and Donna Seaton both served as organists and Lorri Rieck was pianist.
The message was on Luke 6, with Pastor Jack Erickson giving a message called "Squarely on their Head."

There was a board meeting after the service and a UMW meeting after that.

There will be a joint Thanksgiving service Tuesday, Nov. 20, at North Highlands United Methodist Church.

Reformation Sunday

Sunday, Faith Church observed Reformation Sunday along with United Nations Sunday, and Pastor Jack spoke about Martin Luther and reform in general, in a message called Thanks, Martin!
The blog entry is a little late here, since the service was yesterday. Sorry about that.
This week, we have communion during the service and a board meeting and UMW meeting after the service.

A Fish Story

   This 17th week of Pentecost, Faith Church holds its Sunday morning worship at 10:30 a.m. Pastor Jack Erickson will speak on Mark 1, in a message called A Fish Story. A coffee, music and fellowship time in the church lobby precedes the service.
Sunday school proper begins Sept. 23, with classes for kids and adults.
   The UMW no-bake sale is still going on, so you can still not make kuchen and raisin cookies and donate the cost to the women's group. 
   They use it to help groups local and worldwide like Safe Harbor, Salvation Army, World Service blankets and Kids Against Hunger.

What was the miracle?

On this Sunday, Faith Church meets during the usual times: 9 a.m. for Sunday school and 10:30 a.m. for worship.

The United Methodist Women continue with their No-bake Sale, so, if you have chocolate croissants or even zucchini bread that you don't want to bake, the group will take your donations and turn them into something wonderful for people at home and abroad in need.
