Awake Sleepers
Sunday, Faith Church took a look at John 3.
Pastor Jack mentioned the British comedy series Mulberry, and talked about the son-of-Death character in the last, unbroadcast, episode, revealing himself at last for who he was. He said that one of the final ideas of the show was that it is easier to face death in the presence of a friend. He spoke on judging and on the light we shine as Christians. He also looked at the quoted song lyrics in Ephesians 5:
"Awake, sleeper,
And arise from the dead,
And Christ will shine on you."
Linda Lang gave the children's message, mentioning that Christ on the cross erased our sin, and she handed out Easter erasers to the kids.
The praise band sang blues style songs: Precious Lord, take my Hand, and Jesus is a Rock and He Rolls my Blues Away.

What's coming up this week
Worship service is Sunday at 10:30 a.m. Sunday school for children and adults begins at 9 a.m. We will have special music by the praise band.

Our prayer group is each Wednesday, 12 to 2 p.m.

What would you do?
We looked at Mark in the service this Sunday. Pastor Jack talked about the lifestyle and exclusion of lepers in Bible times, and the misunderstanding of their condition. He mentioned Jesus' instruction for the leper not to tell anyone about his healing. He also discussed possible reasons for Jesus giving that instruction. The leper told people what Jesus had done for him anyway. When Jesus does something in us, we need to tell others, and the best way to do that is through the kind of life we lead, through the way we treat others.
Cindy opened "the box" for the children's message and found a watch. She talked to the kids about time and how there are only 24 hours in a day. She urged the kids to use them well and to use them for praising God.

New Floor!
The fellowship room gets a new floor, and that means that the Kids in the Kitchen Sunday school will be on hold for a while, but that's OK because:
Sunday is BIBLE JEOPARDY! and it will be in the lower level of the education wing.
Next Sunday, kids will do a late Purim reader's theater activity (also in lower level)
After that, Ted Kneebone has an Easter radio drama that we'll be working on, so we won't need the kitchen for a while.
Once the floor is in, kids will finish up with food lessons from the New Testament in the kitchen.
